Over the years, I have been involved in virtually every aspect of the industry, and spent more than 25 years in various management and marketing roles in different parts of the Asia Pacific, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia and Thailand, my adopted home. This included roles as the opening General Manager of the Park Royal Resort in Bali, in the mid nineties, involving a major renovation and rebranding, a stretch in Manila as the Philippines Country Manager for Century International Hotels, and 4 years in Kuala Lumpur with the Park Plaza group, as VP Operations & Development for their properties throughout Southeast Asia. While I started my life in hotels working as everything from a bus-boy to a bartender, and from kitchen hand to night-porter in local hotels back home in Australia, I continued my hotel career in Asia managing independent boutique properties, beach resorts, city hotels, condotels and serviced apartments, with both local and international hotel chains; covering a broad range of experiences in operational, sales, marketing and development.
